Services & Workshops

“The only way out, is through, Fritz Perls”

Workshops

If you think you would like a little taste of Creative Arts Inquiry first, short introductory workshops are available to explore creative mediums for personal reflection and empowerment.  No previous arts experience required.
There are currently no workshops scheduled.

In addition, Creative Arts inquiry workshops are run where every week a new and meaningful topic will be explored. They provide the time to try out many creative modalities, including painting, drawing, clay, collage, mixed media sculpture, dance-movement, body awareness, mindfulness, symbols, writing and more, in order to take your personal exploration deeper.  They are also a chance to commit some time each week to reflect, access new insight, and re-energize your inspiration.

Group Work

Workshops can be a great introduction if you haven’t come before, or an opportunity to continue your exploration if you have attended previously.

Exploring one’s interior world and those of others in a group setting is very insightful and empowering. My approach to art therapy aids self-exploration in a gentle and self-paced manner allowing everyone to express themselves freely without judgement or interference. The groups are small, intimate and supportive.

Individual Therapy

If you think a personalized session might be more for you, you can book private sessions. I offer short and long term face to face individual therapy. The fee for a 50 minute session is £50.
After an initial free phone consultation to discuss your needs and goals, we can set a first meeting day and time. You will receive an email with Term and Conditions of your Therapy and the details of your appointment.

Some conditions that art therapy may be used to treat include:

  • Anxiety, stress and depression

  • Psychological symptoms associated with medical conditions

  • Aging-related issues

  • Trauma recovery

  • Emotional difficulties

  • Eating disorders

  • Substance use

  • Family or relationship problems

  • Psycho-social issues

  • Grief and loss

You will be able to identify what is at the core of your challenges and through the therapy process build self-esteem, gain helpful strategies to cope with and manage the challenges you are facing.

Education, presentation and workshops on self care and reflective practice for health professionals and school teachers

Caring for adults and children is a fulfilling but also challenging profession. How do we take care of ourselves in the process to avoid secondary trauma or compassion fatigue?
Self-care and well-being in the workplace are often overlooked or not prioritized. It is important to identify when the balance is likely to be compromised. What is your code of ethics?

Research consistently demonstrates that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is more predictive of outcome than any other factor. When we are well, we are better able to connect with our clients, more attentive and creative in our work.
While vital, being emotionally attuned and available also increases our vulnerability.

Workshops are focused around strategies to explore emotional labour & resilience, reflective practice, self-care and debrief opportunities, will look at how it relates to good work practice and connecting with our clients.

Here’s what participants share!

Tough guys can do it too. Don’t knock until you’ve tried it! I was a sceptic about these sorts of exercises but ultimately, I recognised that I had found out something about myself and what had been bothering me. I loved the seamless nature of the process where each exercise built on the last to get you to an insightful place with the least effort. Eddie T

I thought the workshop was brilliant I'm still brimming from it. It was like holding up a mirror and enjoying what you see. It was generally quite fascinating as to how much perspective was achieved with so little thinking! I would really recommend this to anyone who would like to face themselves a little deeper in a positive and fun way. Alice B

Enormous fun due to the pace and humanity of the facilitator and the chance to play with my creative side. I was excited to share my story. The final poem culminated in my own personal mantra – I was very proud of the whole outcome! Nicki Whitehead
